I first read Wallace Stegner a few years ago. His novel Crossing to Safety was filled of gorgeous prose and heartfelt reality. Now it's the centennial of his birth and he's still fighting (or not fighting) for recognition.

Thanks for the link to the article. I only read a bit of the beginning but will go back to it. Amazing, that his books weren't reviewed at the time. Wow.

I've only read one of his novels, Angel of Repose, and thought it was wonderful. Unfortunately I've not gone back to read anything else by him.

well, I will hopefully will be giving him some attention this year. He is most definitely on my list. (actually he has been for a while, but I do want to read him this year).
